Paragonimiasis westermani is one of chronic pulmonary disease. However, at the stage of metacercariae. it is reported that these are involved in the sites of brain, spinal cord, orbit, mediastinum, abdominal wall, great and lesser omintum, mesentery, gernial sac and fallopian tubes other than lungs. But, there have beev few report concerning with the captioned cases. Thus this report have been made for this particular case. The patient is a Korean house-wife, 50 years old with Gravida ; 3, Para ; 1, Abortion ; 2 and was admitted with chief complaints of low abdominal mass on 26th Jan. 1973 to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Internal Medicine Cheil Hospital, Seoul. Preoperative diagnosis was myoma of uterus, since there were physical findings such as globular solid mass of 15×15×15cm sized, firm, nodular surfaced was palpated in the low abdomen. No particular family history was found. However, The Raw crabs and fish were frequently accepted by the patient according to the past history. On routine laboratory findings including the hematology, urinalysis, chest P-A, skull A-P and Lateral, I.V.P. and liver function test were within normal limits, and pregnancy test was also negative, except the flat abdomen shows calcified density in the left low abdomen. At the operation there were two calcified nodules in the great omentum which were greyish white in color and 3×3×2cm in size. Pathologist reported micrescopic diagnosis of the omental calcified nodules and left ovary was paragonimiasis involving "omental" fat tissue with comment as following "the omental fat tissue, microscopically, show areas of necrosis in which many eggs of paragonimus found. Old calcified nodules (old paragonimus foci) are also found in the ovarian stroma."
